I really enjoyed this class. For my project I did a value study and color study from a photo that I took at a local park near my house. I've been wanting to paint it for a while and I've been really struggling with how to approach it. I always want to just jump in and paint, skipping over all the planning stages and thumbnails, etc. Then I get frustrated when it's not working and I think the painting ends up looking overworked because I have too many correction to make. Hopefully, this will help me avoid all that, by putting some time into the planning process before I pick up my brushes. For this project, I worked digitally, but I do plan to paint it in gouache.

I updated my project with the gouache painting that I did using these studies and trying to incorporate some of what I learned in the class.
