Kickstart your Creativity with Lisa Bardot
Hi Lisa - thank you for this course and a generous offer.
Wow - 6 hr 24 min long! But it feels the time flew by so fast!
I am struggling with creating art on my own and do hope to be able to do more on my own with your props and ideas from MAE.
I noticed that I tend to enjoy drawing/painting more of a flat-style illustrations, with some vintage texture, I also love the simple animation you showed us. Surprising discovery was - I love decorative ornaments on my at! It seemed to me that I could add and add those vines and leaves and flowers to infinity (snakes, butterfly)!
I am sure to be missing this class next week, but hope to pick up my iPad and do something on my own. Thank you again!
Week 1.
I loved most painting the donut, funny cuz I don’t like them. ))) Working with one brush was quite interesting and gave me opportunity to sample the once I’ve never used before. And I’ve noticed I prefer texture brushes and edges over smooth ones.
If there is a second place - I’d give it to the egg!
I tried to follow your lessons and not to add details. Though the 5th painting is more detailed than the first. Another challenge for me!
I understand why you’d like me to come back and change the first drawings.
Cannot wait for the next week!
Week 2.
Enjoyed drawing Monstera leaf. It’s very graphic and sleek, almost vector-like.
Cactus. It was fun to play with kid-like paper collage art. Couldn’t help myself and added a few details ))).
White poppy was my favorite so far! Amazing how simple tool can do so much! I might use Liquify option more often. This is my fave this week.
Acorn is more complex and more exciting. And mushrooms were so sophisticated to draw and render.
I’ve already done a revision of a few of my previous drawings. See them below.
Week 3.
More fun, more features, more details.
Snakes… they are my biggest fear!
So my snake is a bit of a folk art-ish and cute. I left the design white on the blue and colored it in on the magenta one.
My Birdie's turned out to be quite festive! I decided to use some pictures I’ve already have. The one on the tail feathers - my tests of the marbling with Liquify tool. Then added a few details and a shadow.
Fish. Between my Procreate app and Chrome crashing on me several times, I've won! Lisa introduced so much fun things this time that it was reeeeally hard not to add more ))). And as I've been posting it, already saw what adjustments need to be done.
Butterfly. I used several features to embellish my B-fly and discovered how much I love floral motives. I would say this is my favorite for this week!
Mouse. She is quite a romantic soul!
Week 4.
Socks & animation. Followed the lesson to a T. Added a few more frames and used a Ping-Pong setting. Thank you for the Splice app, Lisa! Here is a link to my Instagram.
Clock was my fave this week. Loved drawing and animating it! I enjoy flat style with highlights and shadows.
Vintage camera. Love the simplicity and graphics. I also used Chromatic Aberration here.
Ukulele. I fell in love with the picture of this pink instrument, with a dolphin decoration. And, so, my ukulele is pink!
Art supply. Decided to experiment a bit and add a supply we used throughout this course.
