I always love to play with ink blots and follow the totally unexpected places they take me.  After experimenting with different inks in one of my cheap (but favorite) sketchbooks, Bienfang Mixed Media Pad,  the texture and character of the liquid graphite blots was my favorite. The snake is painted with Daniel Smith Artic Fire which shifts from green to violet in the light, although the color doesn't show in the photo.
