Career 2.0: Find work that inspires you

Hello! It was nice to step into interviews without any expectations. The people at the admin position were very kind; however, not exactly what I was looking for.I had another opportunity similar to a job interview I had in July and it met most of my credentials and so accepted the position. I am much happier now. I really appreciate this course because it gave me a chance to really reflect on my work values and talents to reinvent my identity from a public school educator. :)I have discovered that this was the best move, to step out of education and move into a position where I had more freedoms to be myself. Also less limitations on my ability to create. I have many old coworkers now coming to me about transitioning away from education, and I try to encourage them not to stay somewhere that no longer resonates with them. Sometimes the scariest leaps are the ones that end up being the most grounding.

Jet, you've got great ideas and experiments here. I love that you're turning to books and chatting with someone you know about small biz and consulting. Those can be really valuable steps that don't have much of a barrier to make them happen.How have these experiments worked for you so far? What have you discovered?Thanks for sharing.

Yes! They have. I realized I wouldn't enjoy being a consultant because of how much work it was going to be. I also was able to work locally and I just opened my own business :) and speaking to local businesses for mentors in my area. :) Your course was very helpful and I recommended a bunch of my friends to take it since they are pivoting in their own careers.

2. Educational Consultant.
3. Apply to part-time positions in Admin work to get my feet wet.
 
1. Look up business books in the library about how to start a small business.
2. Talk to my aunt about her consulting position.
3. Interview this Friday for an admin position.
