I choose this icons thinking on how I would create icons for a "creative" app, for content creation. 

I started the project with an sketch sheet, to get a feel on how I wanted to work it: 

Next I choose a color pallete. I wanted something that could blend with the background, but still eye-catching enough to recognize them easily. 

I tried to keep the shapes consistent and simple enough so they could be recognized without needing text.
