How to Paint: Watercolor Cacti & Succulents Sample Project
Hi! And welcome to my class on how to paint cacti & succulents with watercolors!
This is a sample project of what was painted during the videos.
We practiced different techniques in each plant. With the beaver tail and saguaro, we practiced wet-on-wet, lifting, and detailing. In the zebra plant, we practiced glazing/layering, detailing with white, and creating a 3-D look to our plant. And lastly, with the echeveria, we practiced using different sized brushes simultaneously and glazing/layering.
For each plant, we also created a custom palette to help guide us. We used mostly sap green, hooker's green dark, yellow ochre, payne's gray, burnt sienna, and ultramarine blue. We also used Dr. Ph. Martin's Bleed Proof White for the zebra plant.
I can't wait to see what you create!
