Those homemade macarons look absolutely delicious – they're making my mouth water! :) I completely agree with your point about trying a smaller aperture, but I have to say, I also love this version. Can you tell us more about the settings you used?On a different note, I'm really loving the combination of the yellow and blue background in this shot. I was using my Nikon D7200, the settings were: speed 1/80, aperture 4.5 and ISO 800. It was a very cloudy afternoon so I was trying to get as much daylight as possible. 
Your comment really motivates me to continue practicing. I plan to play with movement next time. And I’ll be definitely taking your course on lighting,
as that is the area I struggle with most.

I’ve had so much fun photographing these. The thing I’d change is shooting with a smaller aperture, but I’m happy with this photo nonetheless.
