High Above in the Cold Night

I have been exploring the loose and minimalistic painting for many weeks and have enjoyed creating my own mini collection using the techniques I learned so far. Candice is great at teaching the simple yet thoughtful process of creating atmospheric scenes. Her use of limited palette and minimal brush strokes and just adding enough detail for the balanced composition (only adding the detail where needed and not going overboard) are all valuable qualities especially in watercolour painting, as we need to allow the watercolours do its own beautifulwork :)
My first project turned out to be a memorial for a very special bird, the bald eagle 🦅 Jackie who was loved by many in the world and will be still soaring in our heart. I left her sillouette to be abstract, light and soft, she was resilient in the severe condition of wildlife habitat, soaring high now above all, reminding me not to lose heart in rough times !
2nd project completed. I am grateful for the process of painting ripples that look more natural.
I added autumn 🍂 landscape based on Candice's recent YouTube tutorial (lesson that is not included in this class).
Thank you, Candice. I enjoy exploring minimalism and freshness I can leave in my work from it.
