Hello!

This project was a lot of fun and I learned a lot from following the class. For my project I decided to animate an illustration made by my incredibly talented friend Frode Skaren aka Uglylogo. His illustration style is very playful and is often characterised by a cartoony, hand-drawn look, so I thought it made sense to do this for this class.

I spent quite some time working on making and getting the textures right, which I didn't have a lot of experience in from before. Even though they're subtle, I think that together with roughed edges and posterise time, they definitely make a huge impact on the final look and feel of the animation.

I do have some experience working with shape layers and animation in After Effects from before, as the project evolved I wanted to challenge myself by making the character open its mouth, have the eyes move and etc., so all in all I spent around a week chipping away at the animation in my spare time in the evenings. 

I picked up a lot of neat little tips and tricks from the class and am happy that I watched it from start to finish. The class has definitely made me more comfortable working with textures and "stop motion-esque" techniques in AfterEffects, so the next time someone asks me if I'm able to animate their illustration I'll be happy to do so.
