Goal Setting with Sticky Notes

As demonstrated in class, mapping out goals using sticky notes is a simple but super effective way to stay in touch with your goals and progress.

I’m using 3 different colored sticky notes to break down my goals into actionable steps.

  • Green - Goal
  • Blue - Projects
  • Pink - Action steps

I keep my notes visible in my office. Usually, when I am not clear on exactly what to work on next, it’s because I haven’t checked in with my sticky notes. I can take just a few minutes to check in and reevaluate my goals by moving my sticky notes around as needed.

Here’s a look at the digital version of my goal board.

Just as with the paper version, it is easy to move the notes around to create a visual goal map. There are many ways to create a digital version of this (such as the Stickies for Mac app, shown here).

I still prefer my paper sticky notes, since I can see them when I'm creating art and not looking at my computer.

I'll check in later to update this project in the future. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to seeing your class projects!
