Glazing revisited

Glazing revisited - student project

I loved this class! Thanks so much. I have used glazing in various ways for years, but this class helped me look at it in a new light. I would rarely glaze an entire area, but would use it for shading, texture, etc.

Here is a dramatically sped-up video of my painting process. My first lepitdoptera!

I painted a moth that is endemic to my home region, south of Perth, Western Australia. As a kid we would find these guys all over the school!

I did a glazing test grid first and then felt confident with creating the colours I would need to render my moth.

I used cadmium red, indigo, burnt sienna and a touch of cadmium orange.

Thanks!
