Fun scribbles with liquid watercolor & gouache

Fun scribbles with liquid watercolor & gouache - student project

Thanks for another fun and creative class Denise! I did not have any inks, so I used liquid watercolor in a dark brown. It seems like even after a few days it still hasn't all the way dried - it doesn't come up when I touch it, but it's still shiny/wet. So I'm not sure if the super concentrated liquid watercolor is best for this.

For the colored portions I used gouache. And although I'm kind of obsessed with the super matte/smooth finish of the big dark purple one, I also like the more painterly vibes of the small purple-pink where you can see more brush strokes.

I really love the negative space created by painting around the inky lines!

Side question -- do you have any tips on how to photograph art better?

This is my favorite one (4x6)! Enjoy the little imperfections created by the gouache.
