Drawing Portraits: The Full Portrait

Dear Emily, many thanks for your suggestions; I will certainly note them! I really have enjoyed your class that has taught me so much. In the meantime I sketch on A5 size too. I find it amazing to see how much difference one or two millimeters can make. Anyway, thanks again and best wishes from The Netherlands.

Wow I love that this is a tiny portrait! I'd find it hard to draw that size so you've done well and its an interesting idea. You've captured a good likeness here. You could add a quick layer of shading on the left side just to the left of the cheek bone, reaching up to the forehead and down to the chin will create a side plane of the face. Same under the chin. It wouldnt take much but it would add that extra bit of depth.I hope you do more tiny portraits!Thanks very much for sharing your work, Emily
