Freeflow Landscapes with Jane
I absolutely love painting landscapes. So when you combine Jane's incredible free flow technique with landscapes, that should have been a no brainer for me. However, I kept talking myself out of starting. My nickname should be "Queen Fiddler Bee." I worried that I would muck these up. I have a tendency to not know when to put my paintbrush down (I'm sure I'm the only one, lol). So, for over a month I have found many a reason not to start.
I am glad I finally worked up the courage, because those three pigments, a little water, a little salt... a little paper rotation... it wasn't that scary! My church painting sky got hit with a wee too much salt, but it kind of grew on me and doesn't bother me too much any more. In the final mountain painting, I had some goofy cauliflowers, so I ended up creating three mountain peaks. Also, I used Schmincke's Quin Gold and it kind of did a weird volcanic lava look on that same painting, but I kind of like the effect so, oh well! My favorite to paint was the birch trees. :)
Jane, thank you so much for this class, your crystal clear instructions (as always) and for sharing your father's paintings which are beautiful. I loved hearing you talk about them!
