How to Draw an Anime-Style Cityscape (Background Art)

Hey Elsie! Thanks for sharing your artwork with us. I really enjoy how you've added a personal twist to this project, and interpreted a more natural landscape. I can see similarities from the project as you've worked from lighter colours (and values) in the background, and darker ones in the foreground. These contrasts in colour and value make our eyes focus on the character. The fun thing about digital art is exploring different layers, and experiment with different components that you can keep, or remove if preferred. If you'd like to experiment with more depth, you can try a different layer in the background. For example, I would save this and try a different version moving the middle tree to the left a little, and creating some depth with a sky and water, or sky and ground. This can lead the viewer's eyes further in. Overall, I enjoy how you've kept your palette on the left, and created contrast in your piece.
