Finally Putting My Tiny Sketchbook to Good Use

I honestly just planned to try one… but the moment I saw those strawberry cake slices being painted, I got way too excited and ended up finishing half of the class in one sitting 😅

This is my first attempt, and you can probably tell I still need more practice especially with the basic shapes. I also realized I should’ve slowed down a bit and followed the early lessons more carefully… but I was just too excited to jump in and paint.

I didn’t even use watercolor. I borrowed my son’s gouache set, so there was a lot of improvising happening here. It definitely made me appreciate the process more and now I’m lowkey tempted to invest in good watercolor paints so I can do the rest of the challenge properly.

It took me a few hours to finish these, but it didn’t feel like it at all. I completely lost track of time. This project felt so therapeutic and honestly just pure joy.

Also, this tiny sketchbook… I bought it on impulse and have been waiting for the “perfect moment” to use it. Turns out, this was it. Seeing these little strawberry treats inside makes me so happy 🥹🍓

Can’t wait to continue the rest of the challenge.
