I approached this in a bit of a different way. Instead of using tracing paper I sketched out my idea and then brought it into my iPad pro and was able to trace over it that way and transfer those into Photoshop. It saved a tiny bit of time because there was no scanning/cleaning involved which was nice! 

 

These were my initial sketches 

 

 

I was happier with the bottom one so I brought that into Procreate and traced over it 5 times, creating the 5 different layers. This was one of them:

 

 

Then I brought it into Photoshop and followed the rest of the tutorial from there! 

 

 

It's pretty simple but I'm fairly happy with the result!
