Edmund's Turkish Delight

Edmund's Turkish Delight - student project

As a kid I loved the Chronicles of Narnia and I was fascinated by Turkish Delight, the mystical treat the White Queen used to cast a spell on Edmund. In the 80's there was no internet for me to research this confection, so I spent hours in the library looking in books to find records of such a thing.

It wasn't until a few years ago I was able to discover it was a real and not just fiction.

For this photo I experimented using a single candle as a light source with 10-15 second long exposures. In PS I pushed and pulled colors to add the blue and bring up the red of the Turkish Delight. It was fun creating a fantasy setting with things I had about the house.

I wish I could have captured steam from the chocolate and did more with the composition, and the focus seems off. But I only had an hour!
