This class gave me the opportunity to use up some paper that I’ve had sitting around. In the past, I’ve designed a lot of repeating patterns and printed them on card stock. It made me feel happy to find a use for this paper!

One of my goals this year is to do a daily drawing in my sketchbook. It’s just for practice, just for myself. Yet, I have trouble deciding what to draw. I made a list of 48 drawing prompts. They're basic prompts, general enough to interpret however I want, yet specific enough to help guide me.  I printed 8 pages with 6 prompts per page, using Photoshop to align everything. I cut them out at 3.5 X 3.5 inches and had a deck of 48 cards quite quickly! 

I didn’t have a box for my cards, but since I like to sew, I thought a little bag would be perfect. I sewed a bag just the right size for my cards. I even used one of my own fabric designs.

This class is one of my favorite kinds of classes. The goal isn’t for students to end up with a project that looks just like the teacher’s project. It’s an open-ended class full of inspiration, encouraging us to take what we learn and create whatever we want. The end goal is to enjoy the process.

I really did enjoy the process of making my deck. It went together more quickly than I expected. I'm looking forward to using it!
