Dramatic Lighting Portrait
Another great class by Kendyll. I would have never even attempted a subject like this if it wasn't for her clear step by step instructions. Even with the great instructions, I found the watercolour base layers to be particularly challenging. Not where I am comfortable at all. If I were to repeat the process, I'd definitely spend more time on forming the watercolour layers. Instead I moved on to coloured pencil quickly and struggled to get the right skin tone (compared to the reference photo).
This piece was actually my third attempt. The first two were early failures. So pleased I continued to push through. Also very pleased I gifted myself a set of Prismacolor pencils. They made a huge difference in blending and shading.
