Custom Procreate Stamps
I learned a LOT from this class, mostly because I actually sat down to do the project and didn't just watch. The project seemed straightforward and not too hard, but still with plenty of challenges and things for me to learn.
First, I took photos of some plants near my dad's workshop - I was worried that they wouldn't work because the leaves all seemed like clumps, and I didn't know if I would be able to separate a distinct stamp shape.
I chose this photo because it had a distinct and pretty leaf that I wanted to try tracing:
I used the Dry Ink brush like Wera recommended and I followed Wera's recommendation to used a thick-and-thin and vanishing line. It was interesting to see the leaf up close and notice the subtleties of the shapes in the leaf. You can learn a lot by tracing!
First I traced the leaf and the main veins, then I made the block stamp, and finally I tried redoing the first one with a bit more imaginary veins and with bolder lines:
I was really happy with the results and it gave me the confidence and motivation to try this in the future with other leaves and for other applications - no just for procreate stamps.
For my inspirational quote, I chose "Less but Better", which is a quote from an audio book I'm listening to again: Essentialism - The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg McKeown.
It is about clearing time for what is most important in life, and about achieving more by doing less - doing what is essential.
Thank you Wera for this great class and for this opportunity to grow my confidence and to create a project I'm proud of.
