Croissant

Croissant - student project

Hello everyone!
I learned how to paint pastry and amazing techniques with this class and I got really excited.
Before I upload my project pictures I want to say thank you to Kendyll for this class and her teaching.
With this project, it was my first time painting pastry and I really enjoyed it.

This is my reference image. I found this photo on PEXELS' website and it was free to use. I love eating croissant they are sooo fluffy. (I chose the front-middle one for painting)

After sketching the pastry, I cleaned up my drawing with using the window as a light table.

And then I added base color with Faber-Castell's watercolor pencils.

I added some watercolor (and at this phase, I added too much dark to my pasty painting :( I couldn't add light areas with colored pencil 'cuz browns were too dark)

For detail, I used Polychromos colored pencil and tried to add some crust to the painting. (at this point I had to skip the Gamsol stage because I live in a small area and I couldn't find a decent solvent for this project and couldn't wait for days.. I was too excited to work on this painting.)

After I was satisfied with the result I applied Posca white pen to the painting for finishing touches.

Skillshare needs more classes like this and thank you for providing this knowledge for us Kendyll! I learned so many things and really enjoyed this project.
It would be amazing if I get your feedback.
