Hey Lesley! Great question. :) So to answer you in the opposite order. You're at the stage in which you're ready to move from stroke to outline icons - when you have your icons around the same size on your art board. The same stroke weight...and your proportions are looking good, it's time to outline. (It's always great to create a copy of your stroked icons and place them on a new layer for safe keeping.)Now, why you need to outline - It's important to outline your icons so that when you move on to crop the tile to its desired size, you can cleanly slice the edges, keeping the shapes and lines of your icons in tack. Otherwise if you leave the icons stroked, you will create new shapes and be left with new anchor points on the lines of your icons. Pulling you away from those seamless lines and edges that we'll looking for at this stage.I hope this helped! If you have any other questions please let me know! :{D
