Advanced Compositional Techniques: Level Up Your Photography

"A heavy load" This image is greater than you may realize. My eye goes from the cyclist's head, down to the bushel on the back of the bicycle carriage, down to his foot which is pointing toward his other foot, then up the diagonal frame section, and then, this is the most important part, my eye goes to the clump of trees in the background where one of them appears almost human, waving at the cyclist. The fact that you caught his right foot diagonally is great; if it had been flat or pointing at the ground, it wouldn't have the same impact. With the tree in the background waving, it reminds me of a Henri Cartier Bresson image where a man was jumping across the water, and in the background was a poster with a ballerina or someone in a similar pose. If that center tree did not have the arm extending, it would be a completely different image. I would suggest converting it to greyscale; the darkest tones will redesign the image, and the tree in the background will have a bit more prominence. Color is not needed here. Great work, keep it up.

Think of how these images would have turned out if we the viewers could engage more; if we could see their eyes or maybe what they are looking at.
