Composition - Exercises
1. Composition

2. Expression
In this section, I understand that shapes can mean something different depending on how they are composed: tension, balance, fear.

3. Balance
In Ui, we often have multiple elements, which is why it’s important to balance the chaos and establish a sense of weight. Despite having different sizes or value colours, we have a sense of harmony like a tree with equal branches in each size.

4. Contrast
Multiple elements lived in the space, but they are not boring; they are different and yet balanced.

5. Form
Adding shapes, texture, and colour helped us balance the composition and convey different meanings. For instance, in a tech company, we want to use sharp edges to express precision; however, in a music app, we need a more organic approach.

6. Hierarchy
When we have multiple elements in a composition, we need to establish an order of importance. We see that in news pages, where instead of all the news being important, one is relevant over the others to already have us acting rather than being blocked. In these compositions, I played with adding a primary, second, and third hierarchy, playing with size, colour, and alignment.

7. Relations
In these compositions, I establish relations of secondary elements using techniques as the same style, having an element relating as a line or being boxed.

8. Alignment
Using a grid and order helped us establish order in the composition and also establish relations when we have many objects.
9. Sequence and Pace
Compositions have rhythm. Repetition brings us balance, but it can be boring,g that’s why pace and establishing different elements bring us more interesting compositions to look at, as we have in music.
