Composition Class Projects
I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot. Here are my assignment photographs.
1) Simplicity
This was taken at the Memphis Zoo. I just happened to be looking at my camera's viewscreen when my daughter decided the best way to see the hippos above the waterline was to go up on her toes.
2) Rule of Thirds
This was taken at the Elvis Presley Birthplace at the "Statue on the Hill."
3) Framing
Our local zoo has a new snow leopard. I was lucky enough to snag this picture the first time the staff opened the door between her cattery and her new enclosure.
4) Viewpoint
I took this one sitting on the ground as my daughter was getting ready to do some tap exercises in the early morning. The Georgia side of the river was still in the shadows while the Alabama side was bathed in the morning sun.
5) Leading Lines
My daughter has been doing a lot of tap dancing with her guitar lately, so I tried to turn the fret board of a guitar into almost a path in this photograph.
6) Landscape
This is from the rim of Providence Canyon in Georgia.
7) Lines
8) Symmentry
The reflection of the elephant in the pond seemed symmetrical to me.
9) Vanishing Points
I took this outside the Convention Center in Columbus, Georgia. The Convention Center is the old Iron Works Building. The track is newer, but laid along the same path as the old track.
10) Curves & Shapes
I think the curve of my daughter's tap shoe counts for this part of the homework.
11) Pattern
Morte's soaking wet stripes.
12) Staged & Props
My daughter was between competition pieces and snuck out of the theatre to grab a quick bite to eat and a drink before she had to go back on stage and do her solo.
13) Portraits
