Cat’s Eyes: Studies in Colored Pencil on Black Paper

Thank you for the detailed instruction and carefully-led course on these Cat’s Eyes. I used Prismacolored pencils and for the pencils I didn’t have, I asked Bing Chat or CoPilot to recommend other colored pencils that came close to the ones mentioned. I also used Stratmore Artain Black paper.
I’m torn between loving the creamy texture of the pencils and the way they blend to make such realistic work and the inability to lay down additional detail marks at the end on top of the creamy pencil work that has already been laid down. Some pencils seem creamier than others. Other than going with a black material that has more tooth (a grittier texture) I’m not sure what to do. I know in the UK, some pencil artists use Zest-it. I guess in the US we would use Gamsol solvent? Anyway. Aside from wanting to lay down more detail, I was pretty happy with the results and especially with the instructions. So I’ve finished the earlier courses on Black Paper and I’m on to Sandrine’s next class on the subject. Thank you again, Sandrine.
