I used the custom shape tool and created the first butterfly. I duplicated it; changed the color of the second shape and offset it and defined it as a pattern. I then filled my document with the pattern; created a larger butterfly and created a clipping mask of the pattern. I gave it a drop shadow and added a color to the background layer.
