Bushwalk Painting and Color Mixing
Here's how I did my bushwalk painting. I got so busy it took me months to finish this one. I started in June and then finished my work just last weekend (September). Haha! I stopped after doing the bushed on the left side. Stopping did help because the thought of mixing colors again is overwhelming. But I got tired of looking at my unfinished work. I was having symptoms of COVID so I had to stay at home (and not work). That helped me finish this artwork. Haha! I continued by finishing the bushes on the right side. I feel like I did better when I continued it. I also think the details are better on the right side of the canvas. Any thoughts? In general, I enjoyed the art class. Definitely, I am now more comfortable in using the palette knife. I'm better at mixing colors and scooping the pain from the glass palette. Less wasted paint. I wish I can do my own original artworks using this technique.
My cobalt blue seems a little darker than what's shown in class. Most likely because of the brand. Not sure. I'm using Liquitex.
I'm getting more comfortable in using the palette knife. As I progress to green, I noticed that I can easily scoop the paint in my palette. Finally, I got the technique. This will save me a lot of paint (and money). Haha! Can't wait to do the "bushwalk". Probably next week again.
