Bullet Journal Spreads
^My bullet journals! I decided to try the method of using a field notes book for my daily spreads because I have been tripped up before by not carrying the bigger notebook around everywhere.
^The beginning of my index, which I finally understand!
^My future log - trying to keep it simple. Wish I would have put the title at the top - noted for next time. I chose the month colors based on the seasons. :)
^My monthly log for the rest of September. I used my initial brain dump to help me think through what things could be tracked simply with a dot, and what things I wanted to log more info about (see weekly log). Rather than starting the month with an overwhelming to-do list, I also decided to keep my monthly spread to more big-picture goals and intentions. The accomplishments section seemed like a natural counterpart.
^My weekly log gives space for a nitty-gritty to-do list, a shopping list, and any key events (almost more for the sake of looking forward to them!). On the righthand side, I have space to track three things that I want to be able to write a little bit about instead of just putting a dot (for example: instead of just a dot to mark that I exercised, I can write down "2-mile run"). I also added a place to jot down some simple statistics as a tangible overview/progress tracker. I expect these to change as I establish habits and turn to focus on different things.
^My daily spread in my field notes book. I am going to record a few statistics here that will make it over to my weekly stats or monthly habit tracker. The dot habit tracker can be very cut and dry, and this allows for more wiggle room (for example, I only get a dot if I hit 64 oz of water, but I will still have it tracked even if I don't quite hit that mark. Also, I only get a dot if I wake up at 6:30, but I still like that I will have the time recorded each day to see how I am doing). I am also thinking that this might be a good place to record energy levels of mood for the day - mood trackers are typically kind of overwhelming to me. Finally, I am planning on picking tasks from my weekly to-do list each morning to "assign" to myself for the day.
^I really liked the art practice tracker, so I made my own. You can already see that I changed the aesthetics just a little bit on the righthand page. I'm a little annoyed that the two pages are different even though they are about the same thing, but I decided to go with it and use it as a teeny way to embrace things not being exactly how I want them the first time.
I feel set up for a more sustainable bullet journaling practice than I have ever experienced before and am excited to get started. Thank you, Dylan!
