This is really great! I was hoping to see your interpretation on this. Your runner ducks had so much character and so do these hares! I really like that the right hare has a slight smirk :-DIt's no problem at all going back to make some improvements. Especially when using this unpredictable technique of applying thick pigment first and then pure water. It's takes a bit of trial and error to see how it reacts.Yes I too am liking the idea of doing paintings with limited colours for these classes. It's a nice way to explore colour theory without getting overwhelmed.P.S. Thank you so much for your lovely review as well!

Thanks, Will! It's really a great way to learn one painting technique and indeed to learn about colour theory. Because rather than just copying an end result (and my hares are definitely related to yours), I can see how I can apply this technique to other animals or objects.
I can see a whole series of classes coming, where you will teach us one technique at a time, and then finally we can start combining the techniques on a topic of our own choice. 
Of course, I am still impatiently waiting for the axolotl lesson :).

I do like your persistence for an axoloti lesson haha! I'm ashamed to admit I didn't know that was the name of that particular animal. I recognise it, just didn't know that was the name. I'm still working on pronouncing it correctly
I have quite a few paintings in my portfolio that I'm going to turn into classes. But I promise if Skillshare continues to be worthwhile, I will do an axolotl lesson!

Don't be ashamed. It's such a strange animal, and name. I saw one at the zoo once and fell in love. But it's quite intricate and difficult to do I think. Perhaps wit this technique it's possible.
I tried my luck at the boxing hares once more last night. I think I am using too much pigment as my paintings become so much darker than yours. I must try it again. Also, I drew the left hare way too big haha. I might (or might not) share it later.

At least you have it the right way round, often people don't use enough pigment and it takes them courage to use enough. I like the boldness of strong pigment

Hi Will, this was great. I am quite pleased with my result, especially the right chap makes me happy.
I cheated as I went back in on the left one. My painting was too muddy in my opinion. But I'm not sure it is better now.
Nonetheless I do like the result of this first attempt and I might do it again. I really like this technique. And I just LOVE to do this with so few colours. I always struggle with using too many colours and your basic palette is now mine too. And using just four colours for this painting was eye opening.
For a next edition I want to try keeping more contrast between dark and light. And I must be more patient and let it fully dry before adding whiskers.
