Bloom Where You Are Planted

Bloom Where You Are Planted - student project

This class was tons of fun! I was trying to decide between two quotes:

- Bloom where you are planted

or

- An investment in knowledge pays the best interest - Benjamin Franklin

I love the second quote, but I was just getting more ideas with the first one, and it provides the opportunity for leaves and flowers, which I love! So I went with the first quote.

Here is my sketch page:

I played around with a few layout ideas and lettering styles, but really loved having "Bloom" in a larger brush script with "where you are" in a small sans serif in the arc of "Bloom". I tried adding floral flourishes and decorative elements between the words, but it all just felt like to much. I opted for the bunch of flowers at the top with vines arcing down to mimic the arc of "Bloom". It needed something at the bottom, but I didn't want to go overboard, so I just chose the small branch in a reversed arc to create a circle-ish shape.

I had a lot of fun with this! Thanks for the awesome class, Teela :)
