Hi Jennifer this is a great attempt on a very difficult reference image, well done! I think you would benefit from adding some warmer tones into the painting - some dark browns perhaps in the shadow areas. This will help to create a contrast with the cooler tones you have captured and help to create more form and depth. Good luck :)

Hi Alexandra, I have added a harder version of the black dog. I understand much more how hard it is to do, not really sure it if managed it.

Thanks Alexandra. I really appreciated your class so much. You are an excellent teacher and I learnt a lot from this class, especially the mixing of all the different blacks and greys... rather than using black itself. I have found another photo of a family members black Labrador and am going to try to paint it, It looks a lot harder than this one.
