Hey guys!  I decided to give the class project a go myself. This is my version of Benny & Joon. I was aiming to integrate the thick, gooey forms of melted cheese within the wordmark itself and also added some 'melted' bits within the negative spaces. The "&" is in a different font mainly to differentiate it from the rest of the wordmark and I like that it's script-inspired; it elevates the wordmark a little bit since they do source high-quality gourmet ingredients so I wanted to highlight that. And then the slogan and descriptor is in a stamp like form to fit the nature of the brand and adds a contrasting touch when placed on the wordmark.

 I know I didn't include green as part of the color palette but I felt after playing around with the reds, oranges and yellows; the brand needed some freshness to cut through the warmth and add a little twist to it to bring those colors forth. It's mainly used as an accent color. 

To top it off, I added a subtle grunge effect over the wordmark because it kind of reminds me of the little crumbs you get from eating a grilled cheese sandwich and adds some nice texture and 'crunch' to the brand.
