This is a very interesting class. I really like the idea of keeping a book of forms and actually started creating one. It will be a great reference for future work. I’m new to drawing and painting, so I appreciate classes that teach art concepts and theory. I used gouache for this painting of flowers viewed through an arched stone window. As you can see, I went for a symmetrical composition with a tentative step toward using some “out-of-the-box” elements. I like symmetry, but I also like things just a little off balance - hence my lone butterfly. I think it might be more difficult to do “off balance” compositions well. Symmetry seems a little easier.
