Making an avatar
Making an avatar is probably one of the most important parts of sales/marketing/branding.
"Is it actually?" "But why, though?" - you might be asking yourself these questions.
An avatar is a "persona" for sales; it is a made-up person (formed through research, suggestions, and personal opinions) that will define to whom you will sell and which audience you will target as your potential customers.
Exercise - making an avatar:
Unique Selling Proposition
USP (Unique Selling Proposition) is literally what defines you as better then the rest. "Why would people go to me instead of my competitor?"
Exercise - defining my own USP:
- my websites are actually good (modern, minimalistic, premium look which makes customers feel that they are "in good hands")
- unique customer service: speed and efficiency (responding within the same day, clear view of what and how things will be done, never late, etc.)
- one-person-service/company: when my clients have a relationship with me, it is a relationship with me and not my lawyers, PR team and 3 coffee machines (they know that they are paying for my service, every penny they pay is dedicated to making them make more money and not paying for my coffee machines or half empty office)
- taking my clients seriously
- never taking bad money (not doing bad projects and lying with marketing just because the clients pays well)
Mood board
Mood board is a design that will define your brands mood and show to your people what emotions are in this company.
Exercise - making a mood board:
Consisent brand identity
Having a "consistent" brand is basically giving your customers the same experience on every place. That means that the same graphics, same way of talking and the same quality of every single thing will be the same on every platform you use.
Exercise - defining two brand identities:
Apple's identity:
- awareness: the same logo, colors and fonts, gadget design, simplicity (every one of these points speaks of Apple)
- trust: nobody actually has a bad experience with Apple products
- authority: Apple is the one making new trends and that is their best authority over everyone
Nike's identity:
- awareness: the same logo, colors and fonts, clothing design, simplicity (every one of these points speaks of Nike)
- trust: nobody actually has a bad experience with Nike products
- authority: Nike is the one making new trends and that is their best authority over everyone
