Assorted Doodles :P

Despite having some prior experience with Krita, there's always something new to learn. So with this class, I took the time to explore the app more; which lead to me experimenting with all sorts of tools, such as layer types and gradients. All of that came together in these lil' doodles!

Assorted Doodles :P - image 1 - student project

To (briefly) explain in order: Fig. 1 started out simply enough, but eventually was given more and more detail to varying degrees. I'd love to revisit that kind of texture someday.

Moving on to Fig. 2, the cactus itself was pretty easy, but for the life of me I couldn't figure out if I wanted to add more. I ultimately scrapped the extra background and rendering I tried to tack on, and left it as is; chamingly simplistic.

And last but not least, Fig. 3 had a rocky start; I initally used a palette of assorted greens to paint it, but it didn't feel quite right. Once I started fiddling with layer types however, they looked much more cohesive. Some extra lighting, shading, and an oil-paint filter later, I'd say it all worked out in the end :)

Whew, that didn't end up being very brief.. We-ell, I hope y'all enjoyed it nonetheless. And I wish you the best of luck with your own art!

Until next time!  ^_^
