I have been doing tons of animations recently, most of them are with images. I have even created few classes on this topic

The goal is to turn your image into a creative animated poster using Photoshop. See example below:

 

Some of them require only photoshop, others require apps like After Effects, Illustrator or Plotaverse.

To help you create them I have two classes:

Animated Poster "Stop Calling Me"

Animated Poster "Say Something"

 

Now lets get into some details, I will explain you which techniques require which tools and so on.

IMPORTANT - this is not a detailed guide on how to create animations, this is just explanation of the techniques used. If you need detailed guide then see classes above.

Lets start with this animation

This was one of the most favorited from my audience.

At the start we just have an image of the guy jumping above the sea. We need to separate the guy from the sea by cutting him out using Photoshop. Then we also need to fill the cutten area using healing brush, so there is no hole in the middle.

Later we need to import the separate image of the sea and the guy into After Effects and animate there using scale and position.

You probably wonder how do we create this shapes? - We create them in Photoshop and add noise filter later to them. Noise filter will give them this interesting points effect. We also need to import the shapes to After Effects and animate them there.

 

Lets go now to the next animation

This animations uses exactly the same techniques, like cutting foreground and background to separate them. The only difference is that we need to create this 3D shapes. To create them we need to use Adobe Illustrator. We need to create a circle and then use 3D effect on them to create this half donuts.

 

This is next animation

The process here is completely different.

First of all you need to create a still image of the girl with waterfall falling from her face. This has nothing do to with animations, this only depends on your Photo manipulation skills.

But how do we animate this waterfall and make it fall? - to do that we need to use a web app called Plotaverse. It helps to animate still images. I show how to use the app in this class.
