1. Why do you want to work in asset management?
I want to work in asset management because I am passionate about finance and investments. Asset management provides a unique opportunity to analyze financial markets, make data-driven decisions, and directly impact the financial well-being of individuals and institutions. It’s a field that combines my interest in finance with my analytical skills, allowing me to continually learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
2. Which type of asset manager do you want to work for? Bulge bracket investment bank asset management division, pure-play asset manager, or boutique specialist asset manager?
I aspire to work for a boutique specialist asset manager. While bulge bracket investment banks offer prestige and resources, and pure-play asset managers are well-established, boutique specialists are attractive for their niche focus and potential for hands-on experience. They often offer more room for innovation and creativity, allowing me to have a more significant impact on the firm’s strategies and investments.
3. Which role do you want to work in and why?
I aim to work as an Investment Analyst. This role allows me to dive deep into financial markets, conduct in-depth research, and make informed investment decisions. As an analyst, I can leverage my analytical and research skills to identify opportunities and risks, ultimately contributing to the growth of the assets under management. Additionally, this role offers continuous learning and growth potential, aligning with my long-term career aspirations in finance.
