Here is my initial sketching, as part of the process I doodled a character that would eventually go on to form the basis of my alphabet. It looked a bit like a C which was enough for me!

As my name is Mathew, I worked up some Ms. As I quite liked the character above I had a first attempt to bend and shape it into a legible M shape (number 3).

After messing with the shapes a bit, here is my final drawing of my name.

Now over to Illustrator. It quickly became apparent that I wanted to de-grossify the characters a little bit and that making all the letters out of one figure was going to prove tricky.

Even though its not the most legible alphabet going, I think it is just about readable!
