Wow! This is just gorgeous. I especially love the rocks and sea and your greens are perfect.  It looks like the lighthouse near Long Beach, WA.

The texture on your rocks is so expressive!

That’s how I approach skillshare too. I hop so much because I’m an arty squirrel. I look focused on pastel but i like aaaall the things.

This painting is awesome Carmen. I totally agree with what the previous people have said about the use of the palette knife . It just adds so much depth and texture to the waves and the rocks.

This is a gorgeous seascape - your textures and crashing water bring it to life. Lovely!!

Carmen, I absolutely love your acrylic painting of the Yachats lighthouse! Your use of the palette knife continues to amaze me; you are truly brilliant with it. The trees and rocks are vibrant with color and depth! I truly love this piece! I also forgot to add birds to my painting. I keep telling myself that I will remember to include them, but I consistently forget. I will be away from painting for about three weeks. Mom has decided to travel back with us when we return home on the 26th, and will stay with us for about two weeks. I treasure every day I get to spend with her, so I usually don't have a chance to paint while she is visiting, unless she spends a day doing something with someone else. :)

Thanks Diana.  So glad you are getting well spent time with Mom. Who knows she might even let you draw or paint her! Enjoy the time off. From what I have seen from your paintings you do not forget how to!

Hi Carmen,I like what you've done with this! The lighting feels like a warm sunny day with maybe a little haze in the distance. The brushwork on the rocks is very well done. I see confidence in your technique. And I can hear the waves crashing! I'm curious...Are you using a palette knife? Did you do this with oils?  The color mixing of the greens on the hill and trees is also very effective -- you achieved the 3-D well with the values, too.  No birds? :D  Great work -- thanks for sharing. BTW -- I've noticed the consistency in your painting habit and it appears to be serving you well!

Thanks Brigitte..no this is acrylic winsor newton. Just some palette knife on rocks and a bit in trees. I was not looking at reference.  I will add some birds.

Winsor &amp; Newton is a good brand in my experience.  That palette knife technique is really working for you! Gotta have birds!!! :D

I really like how you did this sea. Great sense of movement with the waves crashing into the rocks!

I need to start all over again with acrylic! But I enjoyed using some old supplies.  Used acrylic paper. I really wish I had good acrylic brushes. They always feel to soft or too streaky. I took photo in two different rooms and one shows more vibrant. Tomorrow it might look better! I need to straighten my horizon too
