I found this a really interesting assignment, even in the fact that it made me look at and experience the restaurants I go to in a whole new light! 

I’m planning to apply Alexis’ process and tips to redesigning the typography for one of my favorite restaurants in my neighborhood, AITA. I was drawn to it because there’s already a type element that appears hand-crafted plus an illustrated element, and I'd love to experiment with my own take.

To me, the brand itself feels all about warmth, community, and family, while the logo now feels like it could belong to anywhere. As a next step, I’m going to dig into vintage posters and ads to get some inspiration for how to reinvent the branding. I’ll come back and share once my design is further along!
