A market-entry research workflow for sugary-drink-tax policy tracking
1. The task I chose
For this project, I built a workflow around a real research task: tracking how sugary-drink taxes are evolving across markets, and turning that research into a repeatable process a sugar-free drink brand could use before entering a new country. This mirrors the kind of market and policy briefing work I regularly need for business decisions.
The underlying research material — a sugary-drink-tax policy briefing summarizing global trends, thresholds, and action items — was used as the reference source Claude worked from throughout the workflow.
2. Problem this workflow solves
Sugary-drink-tax rules differ by country and change frequently (thresholds, rates, exemptions), making manual tracking slow and error-prone.
Without a repeatable process, the same research had to be redone from scratch for every new market under consideration.
There was no shared, up-to-date reference the whole team could work from when evaluating a launch market.
3. How I plan to use it
Re-run the saved market-check prompt for each shortlisted country before every quarterly market-entry review.
Keep the Project's shared knowledge (briefing + tax data table) updated as tax policy changes.
Use the policy-stability check to avoid over-investing in markets with a history of tax reversals.
4. Workflow plan
1. Research and organize information — gather the policy briefing and extract what matters for launch decisions.
2. Create reusable prompts or processes — package the research into a Project with saved instructions and a fill-in-the-blank prompt template.
3. Test and refine the workflow — run the template on a real market, check the output, and add missing checks.
5. Workflow walkthrough
Each step shows a screenshot illustrating what the Claude conversation looked like at that stage, paired with a short explanation.
Step 1 — Research and organize information
Step 2 — Organize into a reusable Project
Step 3 — Create a reusable prompt template
Step 4 — Test the workflow
Step 5 — Refine the workflow
Step 6 — Present the finished system
Finally, I asked Claude to summarize the whole workflow in one place: the problem it solves, the steps involved, and how the team will reuse it. This is the piece I'd post to the Project Gallery alongside the screenshots.

Summary
This workflow turns a recurring, manual research task — tracking sugary-drink-tax policy across markets — into a repeatable Claude Project with a reusable prompt template. The template was tested on a real market and refined once testing revealed a gap (policy-reversal risk), producing a finished system that can be reused every time a new market is evaluated.
