I used the blobs both to make creatures as well as foreground to a creature.

Shapes that inspire

I started with a photo of my computer monitor and keyboard. I rotated the shape to make the corner of the monitor the front of the spaceship. Using ‘Dreamphography’ brushes within Affinity designer added the final touches!
