A beautiful house near Amsterdam.
In the Netherlands a water board, water council or water authority (Dutch: waterschap or heemraadschap) is a regional governing body solely charged with the management of surface water in the environment. The main task is building and taking care for dikes and taking care of the groundwater level. They created and maintain ‘polders’ as well.
This house just outside Amsterdam is surrounded by water. I see it always when I pass a long bridge just outside Amsterdam. For this project I discovered that this almost 300 year old house was build for a water board. This ‘office’ has is a really beautiful interior. So I must go there soon. I think this beautiful house is worth to be used for more urban sketching classes!
Not an exact copy of the house and the surrounding. I see seldom people walking there!
