A Wild Rose in Watercolor
Here is the painting of a wild rose, that I completed for my most recent Skillshare class. I used layering techniques such as glazing of transparent paint on the rose petals. I also used negative painting techniques in the background.

Here is the reference image I used to complete the project. You can see I simplified the background quite a bit. I didn't want to create competing elements, so made the rose fill the frame. I also simplified the leaves and stems.

This was a fun project and I enjoyed sharing it with you. If you create your own watercolor painting of a rose, I would LOVE to see it. Please post your project on the Skillshare project page.
