My daughter is currently obsessed with Pokemon, so when I started this class I knew immediately what the theme would be. I really enjoyed how much this project pushed me outside of my comfort zone regarding my illustration style. Typically, I lean towards geometric shapes so it was nice making something more organic and asymmetrical.

 

Drawing things over and over was really meditative. Initial sketches were very rough, but as I continued things really started taking shape, and I got much more confident in my brush strokes. By the end of it I had a collection of illustrations that I was really proud of.

 

Vectorizing, coloring, and texturizing really helped breathe life into the illustrations. I can't wait to get this printed out and gift it to my daughter.
