Well... I don't have liquid watercolors, but I do want to try them! :) Perhaps when I get some I will try this again. For now, I tried it with regular watercolors, but I attempted to make them very saturated. Once again, I work a little too slow, so not all of my attempts to mix and blend worked out as I'd have liked. But I'm not unhappy with my results.
My husband and I made our first trip to St. Louis two years ago for our anniversary, and since I'm also into scrapbooking, I thought it would be fun to paint the St. Louis skyline if for no other reason than to include in my scrapbook for that trip. I found a skyline through a google search, printed, and traced onto my paper. In hindsight, I think the next time I attempt this, I might consider sticking the silhouette on the paper first, and splattering before instead of after. My paint was already dry enough that a lot of the splattering sat on top of the other colors, and I think I'd prefer the silhouette of the skyline to *not* have the splattering on it, and just have it all around instead. Ideas for the future. :)
I have to say, I didn't think I'd care much for painting a skyline, but this was easier and more fun than I expected. I love colors, so I used them all instead of just a few. I think just a few colors would have been easier and faster, and I wouldn't have been so slow mixing and blending. But what's done is done, and I have a nice multi-colored St. Louis for my scrapbook... or possibly to hang on my wall. :) I haven't decided yet!
