Unexpected

I walked into the regular coffee shop that used to visit often. Topa Cafe. Nothing special but I like to relax in Topa Cafe sometimes. It was early in the morning. I opened the entrance door. Looked around the cafe to find a comfortable place to have my morning beverage. There. Found the place, and my eye caught at the end of the corner of the shop. I reached the table, put my bag aside, and sat.
...
I take my time before ordering the coffee. Planning to have a hot latte. As I looked out the window, something struck my view. A person. A girl. Wearing blue jeans with a white shirt. Slim and short. That face looks familiar. It's Nina. She was my manager at the last company I worked for. Shit! I thought. Why I am seeing this person today? Everything that happened last five years ran back in my head. All those terrible things that had happened. How she treated me. How I almost lost my family due to the stress and anxiety problem.
...
She is so demanding. Everyone needs to do what she prefers. There is no freedom. Like we are slaves to her. But that is the way back then. My work life was very stressful then. She is the very obvious reason that I am unhappy at my work. I can't perform well. You know when the head of the department is bad the whole team will suffer. Other co-workers start to behave badly too. Whoever can please her is the one who can survive last in the company. Those who are not able so, will transferred to other departments or will be fired by the company. All happen due to her powerful influence within the company.
...
I still remember that decision I took on that day, five years ago - a decision that changed my life. Everything that I have now is due to that single brave act I did. Left the company for good. It was a great decision I took and I don't regret it. Well, looking at her now, and feel she is still the same person. Or maybe the same monster. But that is not important. My heart decided to leave the cafe. Feel that would be better if I just went to another coffee shop and had my latte there. Maybe I cannot forgive her for what she had done to me. Never. My thoughts as I walk out the door.
End.
