This is a very timely project! I was thinking of making a calendar for the new year, and Helen's example has inspired me to do it.

I used an A4 page and planned the layout so each photograph is square and has space separating it from the next. I limited the rows of numbers for each month to five, placing the few extra days back on the first row as commercial calendars do.

The photographs were all taken by my husband during the past year at Mudjimba Beach, on the Sunshine Coast of Australia, where we often go for early morning walks. The sky colours are sunrises, not sunsets. I didn't change the colours in the photographs at all, just cropped out square shapes. I alternated closeups and landscapes, and chose photos with compatible colouring.
